Bio
Brian Hallas is an award-winning abstract digital photographer whose works most often focus on the flora that decorates his daily life. His variegated visual improvisations beget hallucinatory blooms of the imagination filled with rich colors, shapes, and textures. Regardless of the subject matter, Brian approaches all of his photographs in a similar way. Currently working exclusively with his iPhone11, from the initial image to the end result, he loves exploring the limitless possibilities that apps and layering provide to create his captivating abstract and frequently painterly photographs. Brian’s images have been shown in galleries and museums throughout the world, and hang in several private collections. He has been featured in several magazines, both in print and online editions, and collaborates with assorted artists across the globe. After enjoying a long career in the theater as a sound designer and performer, Brian adopted photography as his medium for expression upon becoming a schoolteacher, where economy of effort to achieve maximum effect is a key to survival. Ultimately, his work is infused with lessons learned throughout a lifetime of ambling among the tumbling tumbleweeds.
